Alan R. King

Alan R. King Jr., 69, of Mashpee, formerly of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 29, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Miodkowska) King and son of the late Alan King Sr. and Rita (Condrate) King.

Alan graduated and received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from American International College of Springfield. He worked as Director of Sales at UNFI for 18 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner at Christ the King Church in Mashpee. Alan loved watching sports, especially golf and football. He also loved to travel with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his loving wife Barbara of 37 years, Alan is survived by two children, Katherine Freehart of South Carolina, Jonathan King and wife Maria of North Carolina, two sisters Nancy Drake of South Carolina, Janet King of Worcester, MA, two grandchildren Olivia and Allison Freehart as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee, on Saturday December 7, 2019 from 9:00am to 10:30am. A funeral mass will follow in Christ the King Church 3 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Great Neck Woods Cemetery in Mashpee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ the King Church, P.O. Box 1800, Mashpee, MA 02649 or to Falmouth Hospital Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601.
