I worked with your husband/Dad many years ago at Stop & Shop in Brookline. He was a gentle and caring man, so full of life and stories. In the summertime i would at times share a ride with him to Falmouth, where my family had a summer home. My deepest sympathy to the entire O’Callaghan family. John still has that twinkle in his eye and beautiful smile that I remember so well. Thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time

Our family was so fortunate to become friends with Shawn and Carolyn when we purchased our home next to theirs in 2002. Since then the two of them have enriched our lives greatly and we have been so happy to be their friends. Shawn was a wonderful, wonderful person. Irreplaceable. Shawn was a cornerstone in our neighborhood. He was a hard worker, very knowledgeable and always willing to help others. He had a great sense of humor and laugh and was fun to be around. In looking back at our times together all I and my family, and all the others who knew him could say is that we wished we had more days together since when we were together we were all joyful and happy. His example has made all of us on East harbor Dr better neighbors, better people. Love always to Shawn and Carolyn from the West family and all of their friends.

We only had the good fortune of meeting Shawn a few times, in the latter years of his life. Whether spending time with family at the lake, or celebrating a family milestone or achievement, he was quick with a laugh, with a smile that lit up a room. Shawn was someone who was clear in his priorities – family, faith and community. The love, pride and affection he had for his wife, his daughters and grandchildren was deep, and obvious to anyone who spent a minute in his company. His commitment to give freely of his heart and his time in selfless service to others is an inspiration, and live on in his family. He was a good man, and he will be missed. With love and deepest sympathy, Susan and Richard Lynch
