Edward H. Grant

It is with great sadness that we share of the passing of Edward H. Grant, 91, of Osterville, Massachusetts who died November 28, 2019 at his home, peacefully surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 50 years to Carol A. Grant, of Osterville.

He was born in 1928, in Brooklyn New York. Edward attended Saint Johns Prep, graduate of Dartmouth College, and Tuck school of business. He was a renowned varsity speedskater while at Dartmouth. Edward was president of the edward H Grant company founded by his father in the 1930s.

He was a longtime member of the Wianno Club, where he enjoyed many seasons of playing golf and never let a summer day go by without a swim in Nantucket sound. Edward was an extremely charitable person, giving to many organizations on Cape Cod, In particular he was a benefactor to many families in need during the holidays.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John R. Grant and his wife Judy, of Hamden Connecticut, Katherine A. Grant of Osterville, and Leigh and herhusband Benjamin Loomes, of Newburyport, sister Barbara Deedy, Atlanta, Georgia, family friend, Miriam Grant, 5 grandchildren , and one great grandchild.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday December 9, 2019 at 10am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Ave., Osterville. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the Housing Assistance, 460 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA  02601, or the charity of one's choice.
