Martha met her husband, Dave, at a dance in Boston while he was active duty Shore Patrol for the U.S. Navy after his service in the South Pacific during WWII on PT boats.  They were married on September 6, 1947.

Martha worked as a secretary in Boston until she and Dave moved to the Cape in 1950, making South Yarmouth her home for the past 70 years.  For 30 years until her retirement in 1997, Martha was the Registrar for the Cape Cod & Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Nancy C. Reyburn (Scott) of Forestdale, MA , son David W. Catten Jr. (Aurelia) of East Sandwich, MA and three grandchildren, Cameron Reyburn, Evan Catten and Ian Catten.  She was predeceased in 2014 by her husband of 66 years David W. Catten Sr and by her grandson, Nathaniel Catten in 2006.

Nancy would like to say a special thank you to A.J., Barbara, Pat and Kathy who helped take good care of Mom for the last six years and to Kelley, who served as her voice when needed.

Burial is private.  In lieu of flowers, in whatever way you can, perform an act of kindness.
