Rose V. Souweine

Rose (Canha) Souweine of Buzzard Bay, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 in the Royal Nursing Home, Falmouth.  She was 101. She was the wife of the late William Souweine. Rose was born in Tisbury, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Pachico) Canha.

Rose is survived by her children, Dennis Souweine of East Falmouth and Carolee Haruff of Sacramento CA; grandchildren: Dawn (David), Vicky (Louie) and Robert (Gina), all of California, Jay of Boston, Adam of E. Falmouth and 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves her son-in-law, Andy Heckler (Sandy Bard) of Sandwich; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great great nieces & nephews. Rose was predeceased by her siblings: Domingo "Mike" Canha, Louise Estrella, & Elizabeth "Liz" Creedy.

A period of visitation will take place from 11am to 12pm on Thursday, Feb. 13th in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 56 Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs, MA.  Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, State Road, Vineyard Haven, MA.
