Ruth Emily Farham

Ruth Emily Farham, 99, passed away on March 24 after a brief illness. She was the only child of Archie and Lillian (Paylor) Brosler of Lynn, Mass.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Eric A, Farham, She attended schools in New York and Massachusetts and was a graduate of Lynn English High School in Lynn Ma. After Graduation, she was employed by the General Electric company in Lynn until she enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in September 1944 and was honorably discharged in April 1946. She was a member of the women's memorial in Washington D.C. She was very proud of her service.  After her marriage and moving to Harwich, she was employed as the secretary of Harwich H.S. in 1959 until her retirement in 1969. She enjoyed interacting with the students so much and they all loved her - some even called her "mom". She worked in retail after that for many years.

She is survived by her devoted family, daughter Holly Nickerson and her husband Willard (Nick) of North Chatham, her granddaughter, Kristine Beebe and her husband James of Dennis, granddaughter Laura Nickerson of Chatham and two great-granddaughters Jenna Beebe of Dennis and Callie Nickerson of Chatham.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and such a kind giving and overly generous heart. She especially loved animals and had numerous pets over the years.  She will be dearly missed by her adoring family and by all those who knew her. Her family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the staff of Liberty Commons for compassionate and wonderful care. She loved them all.

As she requested, there will be no service and burial will be private.
